About Us

In case you didn't already know the following, keep on reading to learn more about us.

How we met:
We both more or less spontaneously moved to the Denver area.  We both only knew a handful of people who were wonderful about inviting us out and showing us all that this beautiful state has to offer.  What we weren't doing was meeting new people to date.  We both tried match.com and consider ourselves a success story.  From the moment we met, we felt the spark.  Within a couple of months, we spent every spare minute together.

How Scott proposed:
We love camping.  The weekend of the proposal we were doing just that in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.  Alise woke up to a deliciously cooked breakfast by Scott.  Then we went on "the ride of our lives". There's a 1-way dirt road that we'd never taken before.  It was a beautiful drive.  It then connects to the main road through the park - Trail Ridge Road - one of the highest paved roads in the US. Scott pulled over and we hiked up Rock Cut trail.  At the end we scrambled up a boulder and then Scott dropped onto one knee, pulled out an incredibly sparkly diamond solitaire ring, and asked Alise to marry him.

How we chose our wedding location:
We both love outdoor activities and living in Colorado with beautiful views of the mountains.  And these were the criteria for our wedding location - in Colorado with beautiful views of the mountains.  We decided to stay close to Denver so that our guests would be able to take advantage of both the city and the mountains.  We also wanted to make sure that our guests were easily able to adjust to the mile high city elevation.  The air is definitely thinner here.

How we chose our honeymoon destination:
We wanted to go on an adventure - and Africa will offer us just that.  We'll first stay in Nairobi, Kenya for 2 nights to try and get over jet lag.  Then we'll bus to Arusha, Tanzania.  We'll spend 6 days attempting to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro via the newly opened Rongai route.  Then we'll spend 5 days on safari in Tarangire, the Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater.  We'll finish our honeymoon on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar.  We'll start in Stone Town and then go up to the Blue Bay Resort to just relax and scuba dive.
